The statement AI Generated • Human Reviewed combines two separate messages.
AI Generated means that artificial intelligence made a material contribution to the creation or modification of the image.
This may include:
Human Reviewed means that an staff member reviewed the final image before publication in accordance with this AI Disclosure Standard.
Depending on the nature and intended use of the image, this review may include, among other things:
Human Reviewed does not mean that every visible detail has been individually verified or that the image is entirely free from error.
The AI Disclosure Mark may be applied where AI has made a material contribution to the creation or modification of an image.
may also apply the mark voluntarily where this contributes to transparency, even where it is not expressly required by law.
For content subject to specific transparency obligations under applicable law, will, where necessary, supplement the AI Disclosure Mark with additional information or an explicit textual disclosure.
Where AI-generated or AI-manipulated image, audio or video content credibly depicts or imitates existing persons, objects, places, organisations or events and may therefore wrongly appear authentic, its artificial origin will be clearly disclosed in accordance with applicable legal requirements.
Depending on the context, this may be done by means of the AI Disclosure Mark, a textual disclosure or a combination of both.
When the technology is sufficiently widely supported, the AI Disclosure Mark may be supplemented with technically verifiable provenance information, for example in accordance with the C2PA standard or an equivalent international standard.
The AI Disclosure Mark and the statement AI Generated • Human Reviewed are intended solely to provide transparency about the use of AI and the human review performed.
The mark does not constitute certification, a quality label, a guarantee of factual accuracy, a statement of authenticity or confirmation that every element of the content has been individually verified.
Although carries out a reasonable human review before publication in accordance with this standard, inaccuracies, imprecision or unintended errors cannot be completely excluded.
This AI Disclosure Standard does not affect the applicability of relevant laws and regulations, contractual arrangements or 's general terms and conditions.
